Kantar exceeds 100 million respondents with new UUPON partnership

Kantar today announces a milestone for its Profiles Network with the agreement of a new partnership with UUPON, Taiwan’s leading loyalty points app.

Kantar Profiles Network, already one of the world’s biggest permission-based, research-ready respondent networks, now exceeds 100 million respondents around the world, enabling businesses to inform their recovery and growth strategies with a deeper, richer understanding of their current and future customers.

From today, the opinions and insights of UUPON’s subscriber base of almost 4 million consumers will be accessible to users of Kantar’s Profiles Network in a privacy compliant partnership. UUPON is unique within Taiwan, as the only loyalty programme to partner with EasyCard, the contactless smartcard payment system used on the Taipei Metro and other transport systems across Taiwan. UUPON also partners with retailers representing 5,000+ stores including FamilyMart, Hi-Life and OK, as well as YouBike and Taiwan Taxi, meaning accurate respondent lists profiled by purchasing and travel habits are possible.

Across Taiwan, the addition of UUPON to the Kantar Profiles Network accompanies the 600,000 research-ready respondents already available in Taiwan through Kantar’s own LifePoints panel and existing local network partners

The partnership with UUPON is the 7th new partnership across Asia in 2020, as the Profiles division of Kantar extends its reach and offering across the region. The Kantar Profiles Network now offers access to 34 million Asian permission-based respondents, growing by 13 million since 2019.

Commenting on the new partnership, Jeff Tsui, Greater China MD for the Profiles division of Kantar, said: “Our partnership with UUPON gives clients an unprecedented reach and representation of readily available respondents in Taiwan, in a highly automated fashion. It is also a great opportunity for the UUPON subscribers to share their opinions in a seamless way to earn extra loyalty points on the UUPON network, by participating in different types of online market research. This is purposeful collaboration that benefits Kantar’s clients, UUPON and their subscribers.”

Celebrating the 100 million panellist milestone, Caroline Frankum, Global CEO of the Profiles division, added: “In a world where data privacy is a growing issue, clients’ need for explicitly permission-based human understanding to guide and inform critical business decision making is increasing. Our proprietary network provides clients with compliant data at speed and scale as well as seamless connections to their other data sources and to Kantar’s gold standard currencies.

“Panels are not a commodity; they are our clients’ customers, and our governments’ citizens. Their time, attention and opinions are increasingly difficult to reach, and increasingly valuable to progressive businesses who want to build their growth plans on trusted, fully permissioned data. This incredible milestone of 100 million panellists, combined with our award-winning survey design and programming, means that Kantar can provide human understanding at an unrivalled scale to inspire growth as we start to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant economic crisis.”
