Accelerating the sustainable transformation of businesses

Consumers are increasingly demanding products and services that are better for the planet. Sustainability, in terms of what materials are used, how materials are sourced, how products are produced and how workers are treated, to name just a few factors, are influencing purchase decisions more than ever. But it's not just about values. Many brands are recognizing that sustainability can be a key driver of brand loyalty and market success.

In his presentation, the speaker will begin by considering the role that social and environmental factors play in the macro context of economic disruption and the multi-stakeholder pressure businesses increasingly face. He will then zoom in on consumer expectations of business - including their perceptions of greenwashing and how to address them - and specifically, the consumer licence to operate: where businesses and brands have the right to play commercially based on associations with the sector in which they operate. And finally, he will talk about the marketing community and their role in accelerating the sustainable transformation demanded of businesses, ending on an explanation of the Circular Marketing Framework – a best-practice navigation tool with industry-leading examples.
